Shannon’s Exclusive Child Care at Geist is nestled in a quiet residential community, away from busy roads and distractions. The center features large, well-designed classrooms and a 3,000 square foot indoor gym that gives children space to move, explore, and learn year-round in a safe and engaging environment.
Curriculum:
- Smart Start Curriculum: Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to align with the Indiana Learning Foundations, ensuring that your child’s education is grounded in proven developmental standards. By incorporating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities, we provide a rich, hands-on learning experience that nurtures curiosity and fosters creativity. This approach supports comprehensive development in key areas: sensory, cognitive, motor, socio-emotional, and language, helping your child build essential skills through exploration and play. By combining foundational learning principles with engaging, interactive activities, we ensure that your child receives a well-rounded education that prepares them for future success.
Assessments:
- Vine Assessments: Our Vine Assessments track your child’s progress from birth through Pre-K, using age-specific developmental checklists to ensure they reach essential milestones in sensory, cognitive, motor, socio-emotional, and language development. These assessments are thoughtfully tailored to your child’s age, providing a strong foundation at every stage. In our Preschool and Pre-K programs, we take a structured and intentional approach, preparing your child for a smooth transition into kindergarten, with milestone-based assessments focused on school readiness.
Educators and Parental Engagement:
- Qualified Educators: Our lead educators hold degrees and have experienced backgrounds in Early Childhood Education, ensuring high-quality, personalized care for every child. With a 3:1 child-to-staff ratio for infants and classroom ratios consistently lower than state requirements, we are able to offer more individualized attention and support.
