Reflections From Our Families

Leaving my 6-month-old in child care years ago was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I remember the worry, the pop-in visits, and the hope that my baby was safe and loved. That experience shaped how I built this center, with parents and their trust at the heart of everything.

My focus has always been on making sure children are safe, cared for, and equipped for the next stage in their educational journey. We know the foundation we lay in these early years matters; it’s not work we take lightly. Caring for other people’s babies is a responsibility we honor every single day. That’s why I’ve built a place where families feel supported, appreciated, and connected.

We also enrolled his little sister at 12 weeks, and she was there until we moved. We loved Shannon’s at Fall Creek so much; we kept our daughter at Shannon’s even after our son was going to a new daycare. It was worth two drop offs and pickups. Dropping off your kiddos at daycare can be tough but the teachers at Shannon’s made it easier. The teachers truly care for the children, and we always felt confident the kids were in good hands every day. The kids both still talk about the teachers at Shannon’s. We moved from the west side to Lawrence to enroll our 9-month-old at SECC (that's how important good quality childcare is for us). We couldn't be happier with our decision. Our baby has strong relationships with his teachers, the environment is clean and organized, and they go above and beyond to adapt to your child's and your family's individual needs. It is big enough, so your child has plenty of space to develop, but family-run, so everyone knows your child's name and what it is going on. Our son has really thrived at Shannon’s. They do so many activities throughout the day, and he seems to really enjoy all the variety. They have a really cool in door gym for days when the weather is bad, and they can’t play in the outdoor playground. He has needed some therapy for being delayed with some of his milestones and they welcome his speech and occupational therapist (who also give glowing reviews of the staff and facility). All the staff know him by name, and I love watching his big smile/excitement when we arrive. They are attentive to his needs and very responsive to messages/communications. They really focus on each child’s individual development and needs. I am so happy to have found a local, family run facility that provides excellent care.
